Energy liberalisation deserves adequate oversight
December 19th, 2008The recent global turmoil in financial markets has taught us that a common European approach is needed to resolve the crises. In financial services, this is partly due to the fact that money flows across borders. Since this is also true for energy it is logical to apply the lesson from the financial crisis to energy markets. Today, when the debate on the third package is ongoing, the EU should further secure adequate regulatory oversight in EU energy markets.
